In England, wearing a face mask has been made mandatory for public transport since June 15. Citizens will be fined for not following orders.
Grant Sheppard, the UK's secretary of transport, said in a press briefing that the number of passengers was likely to increase after the further easing of the lockdown, for which all safety measures would be taken.
People traveling on planes, trains, and buses will have to wear masks.
He added that young children, people with disabilities, and people with respiratory illnesses are not required to wear masks.
The death toll from the coronavirus in the UK has risen to 39,904.
