Taraweeh and Eid al-Fitr prayers can be offered at home, Saudi Mufti Azam

Saudi Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Shaykh has said that Taraweeh and Eid prayers should be offered in homes in the wake of the Corona virus.

In his statement, he said that if the situation does not improve till Eid, then Eid prayers should be offered in the houses.


According to a Saudi Arabian newspaper, when the Mufti was asked about the Taraweeh prayer during Ramadan, he said, "If the situation in Corona virus does not improve in Ramadan, then the security measures taken to prevent the outbreak." By following the steps, the prayer can be offered in the house, and the same prayer can be performed with regard to Eid al-Fitr.

It is to be noted that due to the Corona virus, there is a partial lockdown in Pakistan, while the gathering of prayers and Friday prayers has been severely limited. While the issue of Taraaweeh prayer is also solved.


In this regard, the meeting of the scholars, chaired by President Arif Alawi, will be held on Saturday, during which a unanimous decision will be taken to continue the worship of Ramadan.

In this regard, Chairman Ravi Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman had said that lockdown would not apply to mosques and that the Taraweeh would continue in mosques during Ramadan.

On this, the Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry had said that what can be expected of ordinary citizens when the chairman of the government committee violates government orders.


It may be noted that the corona virus has so far killed 87 people in Saudi Arabia while the number of patients has increased to 7,142.
