Curfew has been relaxed in Makkah

According to the Saudi Interior Ministry, the curfew will be relaxed in two phases, with the first phase easing on May 31 and the second on June 21.

A curfew has been eased in Makkah from 6am to 3pm on Sunday.

Saudi officials said that from May 31, people will be allowed to visit Makkah Mukarramah, and citizens will be able to walk in the neighborhood during the day.

According to the rules and regulations in the Masjid-ul-Haram, Friday and obligatory prayers will be offered in the congregation.


The Saudi Interior Ministry said the second phase of easing the curfew would begin on June 21.

The payment of the congregation will continue in accordance with the prescribed rules in the Masjid-ul-Haram.

Saudi officials say shopping malls, restaurants and cafes will be able to open during the relaxation period.

24-hour social distance will be maintained in public places. Groups of more than 50 people cannot attend weddings and condolence gatherings.


Ban on beauty parlors, barbershops, fitness, sports clubs, leisure centers, and cinemas will remain in place.
