KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has given permission to Jinnah Hospital to use plasma for the treatment of corona patients.

According to the report of ARY News, the Sindh Health Department has given permission to Jinnah Hospital to use plasma, for which a notification has also been issued.

According to the notification, plasma therapy will have to follow the rules of the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority, which will be monitored by a special team under SOP.


Sources said that Jinnah Hospital had informed the health department about the situation and the Sindh health department issued the permit within 24 hours.

It may be recalled that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Jinnah Hospital and NIBD.

Hematologist Dr. Tahir Shamsi said that he is happy that NIBD has been appointed for the treatment of COVID 19. Jinnah Hospital is starting a clinical trial for the first time in Karachi.


Dr. Tahir-ul-Shamsi had said that a patient of Kwid would be given plasma in 4 hours. Inshallah, the patient will start improving in 2 to 4 days.
