Militants target Afghan police

KABUL: Four policemen were killed and several others were injured in a militant attack in Afghanistan.


According to the report of foreign news agency, the terrorist attack took place in Gardez, the capital of Patkai province of Afghanistan. The Taliban also has claimed responsibility for the attack.


The injured were taken to a local hospital where they are receiving medical treatment, the report said. Police stepped up patrols in the area to prevent further militant intentions. Meanwhile, support has also been sought from Afghan troops.

Meanwhile, the United Nations released its latest report on the Afghan war, which said that not only law enforcement agencies and terrorists were killed during the civil war in Afghanistan, but also civilians were severely harmed. It is believed that the Afghan Taliban had rejected Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's call for a ceasefire.
