For the first time since the establishment of the kingdom in 1932, Saudi officials have begun considering canceling the Hajj this year.
According to Arab media, a senior official of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah told the British newspaper Financial Times in an interview that the government is considering canceling the Hajj this year after more than one lakh cases of coronavirus in the country.
"We are closely
monitoring the situation,
" Saudi officials said.
Various aspects are being considered in this regard, while a formal decision will be taken within a week.
