Various drugs and vaccines are being developed around the world to treat coronavirus, and recently another drug has been shown to be effective against coronavirus.
Dr. Anthony Fauchi, a member of the White House Corona Virus Task Force and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, says that an antiviral drug, Remedyswire, has been effective against the corona virus.
This antiviral was developed during the spread of the Ebola virus in Africa. Dr Fauchi says the drug had similar results against HIV / AIDS.
Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office, Dr. Fauchi said the drug could reduce the severity of the disease, which would increase the patient's chances of speedy recovery.
According to him, this drug can increase the patient's chances of recovery by 31%.
"This drug blocks the enzyme used by
the coronavirus, but the virus does not use this one
enzyme alone, so we cannot say that it can completely cure coronavirus,
" said Dr Fauchi.
According to him, this drug has been used in more than 1000 patients admitted in different hospitals in the United States, while this drug has also been used in at least 5 European countries after which these results came to light.
