Ashraf Ghani |
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has said the process of releasing 2,000 more Taliban prisoners will be completed soon.
In a virtual address to a Washington-based think tank, he said the Taliban should also make it clear that they would release all prisoners.
Ashraf Ghani said he was ready to negotiate with the Taliban in Qatar.
It may be recalled that a peace agreement was signed between the United States and the Taliban in February this year under which the Afghan government has to release 5,000 Taliban prisoners. The Afghan government has so far released 3,000 prisoners.
