The Prime Minister gave in-principle approval for the establishment of Pakistan Post Pension Fund

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved in principle the establishment of the Pakistan Post Pension Fund. 

According to details, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister regarding the pensions of Pakistan Post employees. 

The meeting was attended by Communications Minister Murad Saeed, Planning Minister Asad Umar, Finance Advisor Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, and Advisor on Institutional Reforms Dr Ishrat Hussain, Finance Secretary. Naveed Kamran Baloch and other senior officers were also present. Briefing the Prime Minister in the meeting, it was informed that about 34% of the budget expenditure of Pakistan Post consists of pension which is gradually increasing.

 Keeping in view the model, Pakistan Post has proposed the establishment of a Pension Fund. The purpose of the Pakistan Pension Fund is to reduce the burden of pensions on the government and to ensure better management of employee pension matters.
