Prejudice is rampant in India, with doctors in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) refusing to treat Muslim patients.
According to media reports, a doctor in UP refused to treat Muslim patients infected with the coronavirus.

The doctor told the Muslim patient that he had received orders from above not to treat Muslim patients.
Hate speech against Muslims has also been reported in the Indian state of Haryana's Gown Kyiv, where extremists attacked a Muslim youth's house and set a shop on fire after he posted a pro-Muslim post on social media. ۔
