Trump dismisses intelligence community inspector general
US President Trump retires from inspector general of intelligence community action against him
According to a foreign news agency, the intelligence community's inspector general Michael Atkinson revealed the Ukrainian government was under pressure from the Trump administration.
In May 2018, Michael Etten Kasson, who served as the Inspector General in the intelligence community, last year alerted Congress to the US deal with Ukraine.
According to the report, President Trump suffered a lawsuit because of the disclosure of Michael Atkinson, but because of the majority of Republicans in the US Senate, the lawsuit against Trump was not successful.
Now, US President Donald Trump announces the dismissal of Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Etten Kasson, saying he has lost the confidence to work at a key government agency.
In his letter to Congress, Trump wrote that I, as the US president, instructed that Michael Antonson should be fired.
Michael Atkinson will retire in 30 days following the announcement of the US President.
