| Facebook warns China not to become champion |
According to Baaghi TV, China has warned that Facebook should not become a champion of freedom of expression.
The Chinese government has accused the social media site Facebook of "ideological bias", prompting the social media company to announce warning labels on Chinese government-run social media pages, including Xinhua and CCTV.
Beijing on Friday criticized the change, saying social media platforms should not be a barrier to traditional media.
During the briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Gang Shuang said,
"We hope that the relevant
social media platform can put aside ideological bias and adopt
an open and accepting attitude
towards the media role of each country."
