US President threatens Iran

Washington: Donald Trump has threatened to destroy Iranian boats if he frightens US ships.




In a statement released on Twitter, Trump said he had instructed the US Navy to destroy Iranian armed boats if they intimidated US ships.


According to Arab media, the US President did not mention any incident in his tweet regarding Iranian boats threatening US ships.

Trump said that if Iranian armed boats approached US ships, the US Navy would destroy them.

According to Arab media, during the briefing at the White House, the US President further said that we will not stick to it now if they (Iranians) endanger our ships, crew members and sellers, I will not allow them to do this and We will take them out of the water and throw them away.

"It's ours," Trump said
There is a danger to ships and navies that come close and carry weapons.

 They also have very important weapons in their armed boats, but we will target them and throw them out of the water," he said.

On the other hand, senior Pentagon officials say that the US President's statement is a warning to Tehran, but US forces are committed to exercising their right to self-defense.

The US Deputy Secretary of Defense said that President Trump has issued an important warning to Iran and he is emphasizing that all our ships have the right to defend themselves.


In response to the US president's statement, a spokesman for the Iranian military said the United States should focus on protecting its forces from the corona virus.
