Corona deaths in Turkey exceed 4,000, lockdown across the country for four days
Turkey's health ministry says the death toll from the corona epidemic in the country has exceeded 4,000. The government has announced a four-day nationwide lockdown following the increase in deaths from Corona.
A statement issued by the Turkish Ministry of Health on Thursday said that 55 more people from Corona have been killed across the country in the past 24 hours.
The death toll from Corona has risen to 4,007 so far. The statement said that 1,635 more cases of Corona have come to light in the last 24 hours. The death toll from the corona in Turkey has been relatively low since April 26.
In the past two years, there has been an average of about 100 deaths a day from the corona in Turkey
On May 6, Turkish Health Minister Fakhruddin Koja claimed that the government had almost overcome the Corona epidemic. Restriction of social activities is being allowed under strict conditions.
Turkey has stepped up security measures. Schools have been closed since the outbreak. Cultural and sports activities are suspended and lockdowns are being held during the weekend. A complete four-day lockdown has been announced in 30 major cities, including densely populated cities such as Istanbul and Ankara.
